Hi! My name is Tina Cossar and I am from Grampian, PA.  Almost two years ago I started having Petit-mal seizures and TIAs.  I have them without warning and can have anywhere between 7 to 14 seizures a day.  I met with Bev and Eric from Canine Helpers at my home in Pennsylvania.  They both helped my husband and I better understand  Seizure Alert Dogs.

      My husband, daughters and I went to Canine Helpers in Lockport, NY to meet some of their dogs and see if I was a match with any.  I was matched with a wonderful Yellow Lab named Francis.  Francis will alert someone when I have a seizure and also bring my 2 year old daughter Desaray back to me to keep her from harm, and help me get up.  I was told that this is the first time Canine Helpers has trained a dog to help with a child when the mother has a seizure. 

     Francis is always happy to work hard and please.  Francis is more than a working dog to me.  He is part of our family.   

     I would like to thank all of the people who have helped raise the money for Francis so far. Without you, none of this would be possible.  And of course, I would like to thank Canine Helpers and our wonderful trainer Laura for her hard work and dedication, along with all of the other wonderful people that have worked with Francis.
