Hi!  My name is Ashley Cook.  I was born with Spina Bifida and Cerebral Palsy.  I use a wheelchair to get around easily.  In 2005, I graduated high school and currently attend college at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse.  My Service Dog, Bear, will be a great help to me on campus because he will be able to open several doors throughout the building that I have classes in.  He will also pick up things I drop because I can’t reach them. 
     In the week that I’ve had Bear, he has already achieved so much.  He now can hit my emergency alert button when I prompt him from across the room.  Bear can also paw others when I need assistance.  This will help greatly in case I lock myself in the bathroom at OCC again!  I know in time Bear will learn more and we will become best friends!
